SSL Domains on Pixels.com

If a premium member on pixels.com, you have the opportunity to use your own domain pointing to your shop

However, if you just point it then you will not see a lock and you may get a warning that the site is not secure. Here is a workaround.

To create a secure site on our own domain when pointing to a premium site using custom domains

First of all create a new free account on https://cloudflare.com

Click Add site

It will say

We’re querying your DNS records

Press Next

Click on the FREE plan

Then, Confirm Plan

A popup will ask if you are sure.

Confirm

You are taken to a page of details about your site. You need to change the A and CNAME areas

First create new ones

Use your own domain where mine is, obviously

When you have added those two, delete the other A and CNAME fields that were there previously

Log into your domain host

Under DNS go to NAMESERVERS and change the nameservers to

The first one ruth.ns.cloudflare.com
Second one seth.ns.cloudflare.com

Now all you have to do is enable your free SSL on Cloudflare

Go to your new site on Cloudflare (under Account Home)

See SECURITY on that page

Go to the SSL settings and enable your SSL certificate

Log into your premium site on pixels.com and go to CUSTOM DOMAINS and add your domain

Mine is added like this

abbie-shores.com

do not add www or https://

This now can take up to 72 hours to populate but, to be honest, I have never known it even take an hour

Once it has, you can go to your domain using https:// in the address…. like mine is https://ift.tt/2IUIxsK and you are now at a secure server showing your premium site

🙂

It's not all bad is it?

So recently has been a bit of a disaster. As most of my friends know, my server was completely hacked by .ru whilst I was ill in bed, and they destroyed all my sites.  That was bad enough but the thing that gutted me the most was the destruction of a memorial site I had tried to set up for my deceased brother.  That, above all, crushed me. I did think about just giving up, but it is not in my nature.  The more people try to stop me doing something the more determined I am to do it.  So the past few days have been spent trying to rebuild.  I am nowhere near done yet but it does look like a proper site again.... sort of A friend had her website on the same server and they half wiped that also, so I took the opportunity and bought her a domain and created her a whole new website on a different server.  Hopefully she will now be safe :-) The hosts, Stablehost, who have been pretty much a nightmare since I went there, just kept telling me it was not THEI...

Living next door

Only few friends have known why I've been so sad recently.  Only a couple know that I live next to an old lady with dementia.  She lives alone.  She has carers come in 4 times a day which she thinks is too much and everyone else thinks is not enough.  She's never gone out much when well and when they did, would phone the other neighbour sometimes 4 times a day to make sure their home was still okay..  She's never liked people, or the countryside, or healthy food, or life basically.  Her husband was the same until he died   he would put out his bottom lip against many, many things.  They had their own way of doing things and we would clash often but, surprisingly, were quite good friends and they loved the pups.  I took them around often. He died a few years ago.  She had a fall and now this is a lady, with dementia, that shouts all day.  She shouts at night.  She shouts in the morning, afternoon and evening.  Every b...
